How The Paddock Society collects, uses, and protects information across thepaddocksociety.org and Member communications. Effective 2026-05-03.
1. Who We Are
The Paddock Society ("we", "us", "the Society") operates the website at thepaddocksociety.org and provides invite-only motorsport membership programming. The Society is a venture of StaaS Fund and operates in partnership with The Driving Club at Road Atlanta. For purposes of this Policy, the Society is the controller of personal information collected through the website and through Member onboarding and communications.
2. What We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly to us, including: name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any biographical or business information you submit through the membership application or Founder Interview; references and introductions you provide; emergency contact information; vehicle and competition-credential information you provide for Cup Participation; payment information processed through our payment processor; and any communications you send us by email, phone, or in writing.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the website, we automatically collect limited technical information including IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring URL, pages visited and time spent, and date/time of access. We use a minimal analytics implementation; we do not deploy advertising trackers or third-party advertising cookies.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
With your authorization (provided in the membership application), we may receive information about you from background-check, credit, character-verification, and identity-verification service providers as part of the membership review process.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- process and review membership applications, conduct Founder Interviews, and administer Member admissions;
- operate, maintain, and personalize Member experiences across Society programming;
- communicate with prospective Members, current Members, and the Member network about events, calendar updates, deal flow, hospitality, and partnership opportunities;
- administer payments for Founding Buy-In, transactional fees, and any other Society charges;
- maintain the Member roster and Society records;
- fulfill our obligations under the Founding Member Agreement, the Annual Driving & Track-Day Waiver, and other Society documents;
- comply with applicable law and respond to legal process;
- protect the Society's legitimate business interests, including against fraud, security threats, and litigation.
4. Member Roster Confidentiality
The Member roster, including the names, contact information, and Membership-related information of all current and former Members, is treated as Confidential Information of the Society. We do not publish, sell, license, share, or disclose the Member roster, except: (i) to the extent reasonably necessary to operate Society programming and partner relationships (e.g., providing a Cup driver list to FARA USA, providing a hospitality headcount to a partner venue); (ii) with the affected Member's consent; or (iii) as required by law. Member-to-Member introductions occur only with the consent of both Members.
5. How We Share Information
5.1 Operations Partner
We share Member information with The Driving Club at Road Atlanta as our Operations Partner, to the extent necessary for operations, insurance, hospitality, and member-day administration.
5.2 Sanctioning Bodies
For Cup race weekends, we share applicable driver, vehicle, and credential information with FARA USA and any other relevant sanctioning body for scrutineering, race-control, and timing purposes.
5.3 Service Providers
We share information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting, email distribution, payment processing, background checking, identity verification, accounting, legal, and tax advisory services. Service providers are contractually obligated to protect the information they process.
5.4 Legal Disclosures
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, regulatory request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Society, our Members, or others.
5.5 Business Transfers
If the Society is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, Member information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to a continuing obligation of confidentiality consistent with this Policy.
5.6 No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration.
6. How Long We Retain Information
We retain Member information for the duration of Membership and for a reasonable period thereafter, consistent with our legal, tax, audit, and dispute-resolution obligations. Background-check information is retained only for the period necessary to administer the membership decision and any reasonable record-keeping period thereafter.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to us or stored on our systems.
8. Children's Information
The website is not directed to children under sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under sixteen. Where minor family members are admitted under a Member's Membership, we collect only the information necessary to administer waivers and emergency contact procedures, and we treat such information with heightened care.
9. Your Choices
9.1 Email Preferences
You may opt out of non-essential email communications at any time by emailing us at [email protected] or by following the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email. Some Society communications (event-day logistics, contractual notices, billing) are essential to Membership and cannot be unsubscribed without resigning Membership.
9.2 Access and Correction
You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period.
9.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to our legal, tax, audit, and dispute-resolution obligations and the terms of the Founding Member Agreement. Resignation of Membership initiates the data-retention timeline described in ยง6.
10. State and International Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or any other state with comprehensive privacy legislation, you may have additional rights under your state's law. To exercise such rights, contact us at [email protected].
11. Cookies
The website uses minimal cookies necessary for site function and basic analytics. We do not deploy third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may be configured to block or limit cookies; doing so may impair certain site functions.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For Members, material changes affecting Member-roster handling or Member-communication practices will be communicated by email.
